About Ana

Ana Stover is a Maryland state certified court interpreter and professional translator working in the Baltimore – Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area since 2005. An architect by training, Ana worked for 14 years in the Architecture and Land Development industry within Maryland. After much consideration, Ana eventually decided to make a huge difference within her career, so underwent - and completed - her training to become fully certified in the interpreting and translating industry.

Ana obtained her Bridging the Gap certification as a trained medical interpreter in 2004 and became certified in the states of Maryland and Delaware AOC as Court Interpreter for Spanish in 2005. She has also been a member in good standing with the ATA (American Translators Association) since 2008. Ana has worked in the court system in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia Superior Court since 2005. She is also the first full-time court interpreter in the state of Maryland, working for the Baltimore City District Court since January 2009 to date.

Ana Stover was one of cofounding board members of the Maryland Association of Court Interpreters and Translators. Among other experiences, Mrs. Stover was a Trainer/Facilitator for “Introduction to Legal Interpreting” Cross-Cultural Communications. English Teacher, Anglo Moderno Institute, Mazatlán, México, and Spanish Teacher, Berlitz Language Center, Rockville, Maryland. She has also organized and participate as an interpreter in several conferences, encompassing different topics and also has experience in voice over projects. Ana had traveled internationally as a personal and judicial interpreter for attorneys in federal cases.

Ana Stover is a seasoned traveler, some of the countries visited on her own are: All Western & Eastern Europe, Malta, Scandinavia, the Baltic States, Russia, Ireland, Great Britain, Scotland, Japan, China, Thailand, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Mexico, Cuba, Central and South America, Africa, and the Middle East. Traveling is not only her favorite extracurricular activity but is a wonderful way to learn and understand different cultures.
